I love February because it means carnival, valentine’s day and of course my birthday 🙂 It’s actually my birthday today and while you are reading this I’m off to Brussels.

HelloFebruaryUsually I’m spending my big day surrounded by my family with lots of cake, but for my 25th Birthday I wanted to do something special and travel to a place I’ve never been before. While I’m more than aware of how very young 25 still is, I kind of feel the urge to reflect on myself as a person, what I have achieved so far and on my goals because turning 25, I can’t just say “I’m in my early 20s” anymore. It means that there are no longer excuses for bad decision-making because I’m still “so young and trying to figure everything out”. More than that, it also means that this is the time that you should be a help, instead of a burden, for your parents.

This again means that you should actually start choosing a career and stick to it whilst progressing and developing yourself. Furthermore it also means that you can’t jump in and out in relationships and “see what it brings” but start choosing a man who you can actually imagine to stay with him forever. To me, Twenty-five is when things start to change, begin to turn over — I am going to finish my studies in July and will start applying for jobs and because the village I’m living in at the moment is so small, I know that I will have to move to a very different place where I will meet very different people…

For me, it also means it would be five more years until I turn 30 and want to get married and have kids. It’s a wake up call to actually take matters in my own hands and start creating and living the life that I actually want!  So no reason to panic- just a reason to finally start living the life you want 🙂

What does turning 25 mean to you or what did it mean to you? Happy Birthday to everyone who is turning 25- you will be just fine 😉

Hi guys,

Please excuse my absence, but I was very busy with different projects. First, I took part in the German musical production of Zorro where I had several small parts. It was hard work but in the end, it was all worth it because it was so much fun and we performed together an entire year, which was enough time to form deep friendships and meet awesome people.

Here is a nice, big photo bomb of my awesome time at the musical

Later, I went to Gran Canary with two friends of mine, where I had one week off work/studying/musical rehearsals and was able de-stress and unwind. I loved drinking a nice, fruity cocktail by the sea and enjoyed safe sunbathing under my umbrella as well as the stunning countryside of Gran Canary.

We went on a catamaran trip where we made for deep water to go snorkelling and banana boat riding. I saw colourful fishes and coral reefs and I just love it. Oh, I even had a fish pedicure-my feet felt so soft afterwards!

My other projects would bore you, so I’m not going to talk about it now. It’s just for work and I’m writing my master thesis, so there’s loads to do.
Nevertheless, I promise to do some highly requested posts on autumn/winter fashion and on winter skin care very soon 🙂

Oh, and before I forget- I went to a Oktoberfest with my friends and we had lots of beer or “Maß” 😉 (not the one in Munich, a smaller one)

Hello my lovelies!

You must be thinking I have vanished from earth  because of the lack of posts lately. Working 40 hours a day plus being a part time student at the same time (and taking part in a musical, learning how to play the piano as well as the casual date every now and then…) have taken up all my time for the past weeks.

I just wanted to give you a quick update on what I’ve been up to lately. In short: Studying, working and also fun things of course like booking a holiday with my friends to Gran Canaria (Spain) as well as my best friend’s birthday.

I know you get a way better impression of what I’ve been up to lately with a nice, big photo bomb- so here you go, enjoy! 🙂

P.s. I will soon post a series of summer beauty posts (each for body, face and hair) so please check back regularly for these.

On easter, christians are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. Although I’m not that religious, I like celebrating it with my family because after Christmas, this is the second big “feast” where we all sit and eat together and enjoy the nice atmosphere. We do some egg painting, have carrot cake (or this year muffins) and the house is always nicely decorated. I know you like a good photo bomb so just see for yourself 🙂

Hi guys! I apologise my absence for almost a month now, but I have some good excuses… a lot has happened in this new year and because of this, it feels to me as if the new year is almost already over. Do you know this feeling when so many things happen to you that you think you have already filled the entire year with moments and events? But maybe it`s just me :p

First of all, I got a new job in a an e-commerce service agency. I`m an official marketing and editorial assistant now! Since my graduation from Uni, this is my very first proper full-time job. Luckily it is only about 40km from where I life, so I can stay here at my parents house for the moment and commute, which safes money and makes life easier for me now. On the other hand, I want to move together with my boyfriend, but well.. he first has to find a job near where I work. Fingers crossed that he will find one very soon 😉

Carnival and birthday party with my friends

Carnival and birthday party with my friends

But now to the fun stuff: on 8th February, it was my birthday and at the same time, it was carnival here in Germany! For those of you who are not familiar with carnival – It begins on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday with parades  which are held during the weekend and finishes on Ash Wednesday. People  dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life and on the street parade, they throw lots of free candies at you from the carnival float 🙂 It`s always so much fun, especially the free candy and costume thing.

For my birthday, we went to our local carnival party which took place in a party tent with live music, lots of funny costumes and of course-some nice cocktails. This year, me and my boyfriend went as sailors.

Do you have any funny stories about carnival or your birthday to share? Do you want some advice on how to find a job? Let me know in the comments below.

P.s. Soon, you will get lots of posts on fashion, health, nutrition, beauty-I promise 😉

Christmas is over now, but some of you have requested to share some pictures of how I celebrated Christmas in Germany. It was quite traditional with my family on December 24th, lots of eating, eating, eating and presents. But pictures say more than words, so here comes  a little big photo bomb, for you 🙂

Christmas tree in our shopping centre

Christmas tree in our shopping centre

Usually, I buy most presents online because I don’t like the battling crowds in a hectic search of the last presents and I also used to get so annoyed at the Christmas music piped over the stores’ speaker systems. I would grumble how that music was geared to make shoppers feel “in the spirit” and it was brainwashing us all to excessive holiday consumerism.

But that was one way to look at it and I started to feel a bit like the Grinch. This year, I did almost all of my Christmas shopping at the mall and the high street with my mum and my sister and I  actually found it quite fun and relaxing! I tried to enjoy the music, singing my favourite Christmas songs and just enjoyed the festive lights and Christmas trees.

What is your holiday shopping experience? Do you love or hate christmas shopping? I learned to love it! The most fun part for me was the creative gift wrapping 🙂  I wish you all a Merry Christmas! xoxo Kim
